Coldstream Primary School

Facilities

Buildings

Despite some of the rooms showing their age, the school is fortunate to have enough space for over 300 students, which, given the current enrolment allows us to put the preps into a double room, have a double room devoted to a computer lab and another serving as a General Purpose Room. It also allows us to have a dedicated LOTE room as well as terrific Art and Library spaces.

The Facilities are well managed by the School Council through its Buildings and Grounds sub-committee. This committee meets monthly to plan and work through maintenance items and apply for grants to further improve facilities. In recent years grants have been secured to improve such items and fencing, ramps, guttering, concreting and most recently to establish an undercover play and performance area.

Most maintenance items are undertaken by professionals but some are also resolved at one of the four Working Bees held annually. The School Council has endorsed a plan to paint, carpet and furnish one room per year (budget permitting) and this has assisted in improving the internal environment for all.
