Science and Technology

Science and Technology Education encourages our students to become aware of the impact that science and technology can have on our society, lifestyle and environment. Students begin to develop disciplined approaches to thinking. Many fun and exciting activities involving experimentation and creation allows children at Coldstream the opportunity to enhance their learning of Science and Technology through hands-on approaches to learning.

Through learning science and technology students will:

• Acquire scientific and technological skills and conceptual knowledge
• Acquire and use the skills of scientific investigation, reasoning and analysis to ask questions and seek solutions
• Develop scientific  and technological attributes such as flexibility, curiosity, critical reflection, respect for evidence and ethical considerations
• Recognise and understand the strengths and limitations of science and technology
• Interpret and communicate scientific and technological  ideas effectively
• Appreciate the dynamic role of science and technology in social and technological change.
