Respectful Relationships

"Respectful Relationships education is a core component of the Victorian Curriculum from foundation to year 12. It is all about embedding a culture of respect and equality across the entire school community."

At Coldstream Primary School, Respectful Relationships is run by our school chaplain, Jo Schroeders; and supported by classroom teachers and the Wellbeing Subcommittee. Our focus is to help our students build emotional literacy and work through problem solving and coping techniques as well as addressing stress management. We also cover topics around identity and encourage students to know that they are not limited by gender stereotypes. Respectful relationships is becoming an increasingly more important topic in youth development, to highlight the message of ‘keeping my body safe’.
